Frequently Asked Questions:
Q.
How long does the course take to complete?
A.
The
individual learner’s entry skill levels and level of commitment
are an important part of this equation. Learning is self-paced
and classes are year-round.
Q.
What are the hours that I need to attend?
A. New students are required to attend orientation to the program
before beginning ABLE classes. Orientation is offered twice a
month. Please see orientation schedule for the next available
date. Once you begin taking classes, flexible scheduling is
available to meet your needs. ABLE Distance Education for Adult
Learners (online) may also be a great option for you! If you are
interested in the online course, contact the ABLE program.
Q.
What are the specific classes I will be taking?
A. Depending on your goal, you will receive instruction and materials
in reading, writing, math, social studies and science. Computers
are also available for improving those skills or using
educational software.
Q.
What are my costs?
A. ABLE is a state and federally funded program through the
departments of Education and Labor. Because of that, there is
no charge for instruction or materials.
Q.
Do I need my own computer?
A. If you are interested in the online course, you need Internet
access. If you do not have a computer available to you, consider
your local library.
Q.
Will all my books be supplied for me?
A. All materials are supplied at no charge to adults or those
eligible for this program. |
