Any person with or
without a high school diploma
may attend ABLE classes.

Anyone 19 years or older
·
18-year-olds
require proof of withdrawal from
secondary school (A copy of withdrawal papers OR
official high school transcript).

16- & 17-year-olds
require 1. proof
of withdrawal from secondary school (A copy of
withdrawal papers OR confirmation on school
letterhead)
AND
2. full-time work permit issued by city’s central or
county’s educational service center office

• A
fee
waiver can be issued through our
classes. Enrollees who pass the five sections of the
Practice GED Test will receive a
signed waiver that saves them the $55.00 application
fee.

16-,
17-, & 18-year-olds require a signed
Age Waiver section of the official application
signed by a parent and your school’s superintendent.
This completed GED application* must be signed by
the applicant in front of a notary public. A $55.00
money order (or fee waiver if enrolled in an A.B.L.E.
class) must all be sent with the application to the
state GED office (address is on application).
• If an
18-year-old’s class has graduated,
he/she may send a copy of a school transcript
showing that his/her class has graduated in place of
the Age Waiver section.(Otherwise, the
Age Waiver section must be signed.) The transcript,
completed application* and a $55.00 money order (or
fee waiver if applicable) are then sent to the state
GED office.
