Technologist InformationMrs. Getter has a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University in December of
1987. Her major was Elementary/Kindergarten education. In
1998 Gail received her Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis in
Technology from the University of Findlay.
Mrs. Getter has been with the Fostoria Community School district for 18
years. She started as a third grade teacher at Riley.
After teaching third grade for two years she moved to Longfellow and
taught second grade for nine years. She took the position of
Educational Technologist in January of 1999. In April of 2002, Gail
took on the responsibilities of running the entire technology
department. She now manages the district's network, technology
equipment repairs, district technology trainings, distance learning and
the endless paperwork for the district.
Mrs. Getter was a runner up for the State Technology Coordinator for
2005. She has presented at the State Technology Conference, NWOET Conferences,
and several other workshops. Gail teaches classes for the community and area
businesses. With technology and the state standards needing to be
integrated into the curriculum, Gail teaches classes for the district
staff and surround districts on how the technology can be easily
integrated into the curriculum. College Credit for the classes is
provided for the teachers from local area Universities.
