 Educational Technologist Information

Mrs. Getter has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University in December of 1987.  Her major was Elementary/Kindergarten education.  In 1998 Gail received her Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis in Technology from the University of Findlay.

Mrs. Getter has been with the Fostoria Community School district for 18 years.  She started as a third grade teacher at Riley.  After teaching third grade for two years she moved to Longfellow and taught second grade for nine years.  She took the position of Educational Technologist in January of 1999.  In April of 2002, Gail took on the responsibilities of running the entire technology department.  She now manages the district's network, technology equipment repairs, district technology trainings, distance learning and the endless paperwork for the district.

Mrs. Getter was a runner up for the State Technology Coordinator for 2005.  She has presented at the State Technology Conference, NWOET Conferences, and several other workshops.  Gail teaches classes for the community and area businesses.  With technology and the state standards needing to be integrated into the curriculum, Gail teaches classes for the district staff and surround districts on how the technology can be easily integrated into the curriculum.  College Credit for the classes is provided for the teachers from local area Universities.
