Fostoria Community School District owns and operates 18 school buses.  We update our fleet as often as funding permits to ensure that you child rides in the newest and safest model of school bus available.

 

The average weight (empty) of a school bus is 15 tons (30,000 lbs), but when fully loaded, it can be more that 22 tons (44,000 lbs)!

 

Students in grades K-3 are given an annual in-service by the district's bus drivers and On-Board Instructors.  They are taught proper crossing procedures, and how to evacuate a bus in the event of an emergency.  Safety is paramount!

 

Annually bus drivers are required to pass a physical, attend safety in-service classes and every six years be re-certified by the State of Ohio.
