EDUCATORS WITH PERMANENT CERTIFICATES:

You will need to obtain a BCI and an FBI webcheck of your fingerprints and have them submitted to the Ohio Department of Education by September 5, 2008.  When having thewse completed at one of the locations listed below, please make sure that you indicate  that these are for teacher certification/licensure.  You will need to have your fingerprints checked once every five years.

 

EDUCATORS WITH PROFESSIONAL (8 YEAR) CERTIFICATES:

You will need to obtain a BCI and an FBI webcheck of your fingerprints and have them submitted to the Ohio Department of Education by September 5, 2008.  When having these completed at one of the locations listed below, please make sure that you indicate that these are for teacher certification/licensure.  You will need to have your fingerprints checked once every five years or when you transition your 8 year professional certificate to a five year licenses if that occurs in less than 5 years.
 

EDUCATORS ON A TWO YEAR OR FIVE YEAR LICENSE:

You will need to obtain a BCI and an FBI webcheck of your fingerprints and have them submitted to the Ohio Department of Education on each licensure renewal.  When having these completed at one of the locations listed below, please make sure that you indicate that these are for the teacher certification/licensure.
REMEMBER THAT THE BCI AND FBI CHECK IS ONLY GOOD FOR ONE YEAR IF YOU ARE RENEWING TWO OR MORE LICENSES/CERTIFICATES THAT HAVE DIFFERENT EXPIRATION DATES.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LICENSURE FEE FOR TEACHER CERTIFICATION WILL INCREASE FROM $60.00 FOR FIVE YEARS TO $200.00 FOR FIVE YEARS STARTING MARCH 1, 2008.
