One of our FES families shared a picture of Tyler, Izzy, and Brooklyn reading The Adventures of a South Pole Pig!

Thanks for sharing! If you'd like to send us pictures of your students reading during our One Book One School initiative, we'd love to post them!

Have a great weekend, and don't forget to read your chapters!

It’s School Counselor’s Week!
We are grateful for our school counselors who support students every day—academically, socially, and emotionally. Thank you for being advocates, listeners, and guides for our students. Your impact goes far beyond the school day.

Basketball Mini Cheer information

It is hard to believe the school year is already half over. The start of a new semester is a great time to review your student’s Final Forms and ensure all contact information is accurate and up to date. Accurate information helps us communicate effectively and support students’ success and wellbeing at school

We also ask that you review the McKinney-Vento section in Final Forms. This helps identify students who may qualify for additional support under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, which serves students without a fixed, regular, and adequate place to live.
Below are the Residential Status categories in Final Forms, with brief explanations:

  • My child and I live in a home I rent or own (not experiencing homelessness).
    Stable housing: A permanent residence.

  • My child and I live with a friend, relative, or someone else because we lost our home and cannot afford housing.
“Doubled up”: Temporarily staying with others due to loss of housing or financial hardship.

  • My child and I are staying in a hotel, motel, or campground due to lack of housing.
Hotel/motel/campground: Staying there because no other adequate housing is available.

  • My child and I are living in an emergency shelter, transitional shelter, or domestic violence shelter.
Shelter housing: Includes emergency, transitional, or domestic violence shelters.

  • My child and I have a nighttime residence not meant for housing (car, park, bus station, abandoned building, etc.).
Unconventional residence: Staying in a place not designed for people to live.

  • Foster student is foster- or court-placed in my home.
A child formally placed in your home through foster care or the court system.

  • I, the student, live with a friend, relative, or someone else because I am a runaway, abandoned, or denied housing.
(Unaccompanied Youth): Not living with a parent or guardian for these reasons.

Keeping this information accurate allows us to provide appropriate services and support for your student and family.

Thank you for taking the time to review and update your information.
