We wanted to share a few of the fun things happening during Red Ribbon Week.
Along with Spirit Week, students can participate in a coloring contest. There will be one winner from each grade and two overall winners (PreK–2 and 3–6), whose artwork will be featured on a billboard, courtesy of HOPE in Fostoria and CARSA Coalition.
Be on the lookout for Red Ribbon Week pledge forms coming home. Students who review the pledge with an adult and return it with both student and parent/guardian signatures will be entered into a prize drawing.
All coloring pages and signed pledges must be turned in by Friday, October 30.

FCS Families: A fire alarm was accidentally activated on campus this afternoon at FJSHS. There is no emergency, and everyone is safe. We wanted to let families know in case you heard or saw emergency personnel responding to campus. Thank you!
Reminder: There is no school this Friday (Oct. 16) because of a teacher professional development/work day. We also have no school on Wednesday, Oct. 21, for parent-teacher conferences. Conferences are from 8:00 am - 7:30 pm for FES and FJSHS.

Today, our 6th-grade students—and their teachers!—had the opportunity to learn directly from our local first responders through a variety of hands-on small-group activities and demonstrations.
Students also gathered for some exciting whole-group demonstrations, including a ProMedica Air Ambulance, K-9 demonstration, drone demonstration, and Taser demonstration.

With an incredible 13,340 pounds collected, Fostoria City Schools WON the first-ever three-way Goodwill Pass It On Challenge!
This afternoon, our students were presented with a $500 check from Goodwill and 13abc to celebrate the win!
A HUGE thank you to our families and community members who cleaned out their closets, garages, and homes and donated throughout the week. This win was truly a community effort!

This competition is decided by WEIGHT, so every donation counts! On Friday, the trailers will be weighed, and the winning school will receive a $500 scholarship from Goodwill and 13abc.
While you are there, if you take a picture while donating, post it on social media and tag @goodwillnow it will add an extra 100 lbs. to the total weight!!!

Today is School Custodian Appreciation Day, and we want to take a moment to thank all of the custodians who help keep our district facilities looking their best!
Throughout the year, we welcome many alumni back for tours, and they are always amazed by how great our facilities look and how well they are maintained.
And right now, we’ve made it to the FINALS of the WTOL Big Board Friday Stadium Challenge — with the winner being announced tonight!
From our classrooms and hallways to our athletic facilities and everything in between, none of it would look the way it does without a strong, dedicated team working behind the scenes.
Thank you to our custodians for the hard work and pride you put into our district every day!
