College & Career Readiness at FJSHS!
Heidelberg University visited FJSHS this week to connect with students and share information about opportunities after high school!
Mr. Depinet, our College & Career Readiness Advisor, has presentations and visits planned for students in grades 9–12 on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Sept. 17 – The Ohio State University
Sept. 23 – Tiffin University
Sept. 30 – University of Findlay
These are great opportunities for students to learn more about the different options available to them after high school. If you have a student in grades 9-12, encourage them to sign up!

Mr. Lance's RefReps Officiating Class welcomed a special guest speaker this week! Mr. Dee Clay, a former Fostoria City Schools teacher and coach and longtime track official, came in to share his experiences and talk with students about the world of officiating.

Important Update for FCS Sporting Events
As we work to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone attending Fostoria City Schools sporting events, please be aware of the following changes:
No Re-Entry
- Once you enter the event and leave, you will not be permitted to re-enter. Please make sure you have everything you need before entering, as you will not be able to leave and return.
No Backpacks or Oversized Bags
- Backpacks and oversized bags will not be permitted inside FCS sporting events. Please leave these items at home or secured in your vehicle before entering. Small personal bags and purses are permitted.
Please note that these are changes from our previous event procedures.
We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of our students, families, and community members as we put these expectations in place.

This is our first Senior Spotlight for the 26-27 school year! We plan to feature a different senior every Tuesday and Thursday.
Regular attendance is an important part of a student's success. When students are in class, they get the most out of every lesson and opportunity. See the attached handout for information on why attendance matters and attendance tips for your family.

Meet the District School Social Worker:
The District School Social Worker supports students, families, and school staff with social-emotional needs, mental health, behavior, basic needs, and other barriers that may affect school success. By connecting home, school, and community, the social worker helps families access resources and provides additional support as the McKinney-Vento Liaison, Foster Care Liaison, Handle With Care Liaison, and Caring Closet Coordinator.
