FJSHS Seniors and Captains of fall sports and marching band greeted FES students this morning as they arrived at school! It was a fun way to end the HOCO Spirit Week and get ready for this weekend's events!

This week's Fall Student-Athlete is Andrew Lira!
Coach Cousin nominated Andrew; here's why: "Andrew is in his 3rd varsity season. He is a hard worker and has true compassion for the sport. Andrew is a true team player. He is always encouraging his teammates. Andrew is the top runner for the boys' team. The respect that he shows for coaches and his team is impeccable. Good Luck at NBC leagues and Districts."

Dawnitta Schalk, from Cakes and Cookies for All Occasions, visited Mrs. Ashley’s class to demonstrate the art of frosting cookies and cakes. One of the students has expressed interest in working in a bakery, and Dawnitta did a wonderful job explaining the skills and dedication needed to be a baker. The students had an excellent time learning, exploring, and watching a cake being decorated—and they are excited to taste the finished creation!

✨ Today is School Custodian Appreciation Day ✨
We want to give a huge shout-out to our custodial team for the incredible work they do every single day to keep our facilities looking great. From keeping our schools clean and safe to lending a hand wherever it’s needed, their hard work often happens behind the scenes—but it never goes unnoticed.
Thank you for all you do to support our students, staff, and community.

Here is the FJSHS menu for October.

Girls' Lunch Groups provide a safe and supportive space for girls to build confidence, strengthen friendships, and grow together. Each week, girls will explore topics like self-esteem, leadership, managing emotions, and more. The girls help create group rules, choose discussion topics, and plan community service projects, making the group their own.

Congratulations Temperance, Andrew and Ahna'Lysia!

Fall Student-Athlete Spotlight - Averie Tiell
"Averie is a 4-year letter winner and team captain. She had done a great job representing her team and the school district throughout her high school career. She has dedicated herself to the sport of Cross Country despite her prior injuries that would not allow her to participate to her optimal abilities. Her teammates look to her for her leadership and her willingness to support. She is consistently scoring in the top two runners on her team."
