Students in Travis Justice's 8th-grade science class got to experience electricity using a "Van De Graaff Generator". It creates static electricity that can make their hair stand on end and even send off little bolts of lightning!

HI-Y is an FCS club participating in community service and leadership in grades 7-12. We inducted 22 students into the 2023-2024 school year this year. We have already completed several projects this year, including Trunk-or-Treat, Sweetest Day Flowers, and teacher gifts for Halloween. This group is excited to do future activities such as the Snowball Dance, birdfeeders for the community, and Box City, just to name a few events. Ms. Snyder and Mrs. Theis are excited and proud of their students who are in this club.

Mr. Bowser and his student teacher, Ms. Wooley, played a vocabulary fly swatter game with their students in Elab to help review vocabulary.

FJSHS students visited Sentinel and Vanguard this week to explore different opportunities at each school.

Mrs. Baxter’s English 10 and English 10 Honors students participated in book clubs at the start of the year and created food trucks to represent their novels’ characters, conflicts, and themes. Students could bring food samples from their trucks’ menus to share when groups presented.

Red Ribbon Week is next week. We are having a mini Spirit Week at FES and FJSHS if you would like to participate.

Sra. Ortiz's Spanish II class has been working on the cultural aspect of San Fermines, the traditional feast that is celebrated in Pamplona (Spain) from July 6 to 14.
Students watched a video in Spanish about that feast, and then they worked on an oral presentation to explain some aspects of the feast in Spanish. They did a great job!

We hope everyone has a safe weekend. We are looking forward to seeing you all on Monday!

Mrs. Ashley and Miss Eaches's classes would like to send a big "thank you" to The University of Findlay Animal Science and Equestrian Programs for giving a tour of their barns and arenas. The students enjoyed seeing the animals and what care goes into keeping the animals happy and healthy.

We are excited to have FCS alumni Mr. Chad Howard as a school counselor in the district!

Attention FJSHS families,
