Curriculum Director

It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the Curriculum Director for Fostoria City Schools. I have had the privilege of serving in this position since August 2017. My commitment to the district is to utilize my skills as an educational leader, knowledge of curriculum and instruction and staff development to continue to move Fostoria City Schools down the path to greatness!  My goal is to serve as a resource and support for staff, students, and families alike – to be a true partner in education to ensure every child’s success.

As Curriculum Director, my door is always open, and I welcome your comments or questions. Science Instructional Resource Adoption

You may have noticed that over the last couple of years, FCS has updated our textbooks and instructional resources in several content areas. This is because the district has committed itself to a six-years review cycle for instructional materials. This year, the focus of the district will be on reviewing the needs of the science department K-12. The investment into these new curriculum adoptions is something that the district takes very seriously. In order to ensure that a thorough review of our needs and options is completed FCS will assemble a committee of K-12 teachers, administrators, parents and students to begin this review process. The goal for the committee is to determine what resources will best meet the needs of our students for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond.

Meet the District Coaching Team

In an effort to continue to improve the support we are able to provide for our staff, we continue to refine and grow our coaching team. The goals of the the district coaching team are: 

  1. Vision - To create a vision for instructional coaching at FCS. 

  2. Instructional Coaching - To create a culture of learning amongst staff that is focused on improving instruction. Improve teacher efficacy and retention through  support, feedback, and reflective practices. 

  3. Professional Learning Facilitator - To provide a  job-embedded, ongoing, personalized approach to professional learning.

  4. Content Specific Curriculum Support - To help teachers create, plan, and implement curriculum.

  5. Data Review Facilitation - Support the gathering of and analysis of student data to support effective teaching and learning.

As a district, we are excited to be able to offer an increasing number of opportunities for our students to access textbooks, coursework, and other academic materials online. Below is information on these opportunities – your student(s) should have received usernames and passwords for all of these resources. Please contact your children(s) teacher if you need assistance with logging on or have questions regarding what is available for your child.
