Hello Parents/Guardians, We are excited to offer assistance to families in need of transportation to the Back to School Bash, August 7 from 5p-7p. This year, we have a limited number of seats available on a first-come, first-served basis for bus transportation to and from the event for families who do not have other transportation options. Bus stops will be at Fostoria Townhomes (1204 Beier Dr) and Fostoria Stadium (530 Stadium Dr). There will be one pick up and one drop off. Each bus can accommodate up to 46 passengers. Children must be accompanied by an adult, as unaccompanied minors will not be allowed to ride. Although we wish we could accommodate everyone, seating is limited. To reserve a spot, please sign up, and seats will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Fill out the Google Form to secure seats for you and your student on one of the buses. Sometimes, we all find ourselves in need of some extra support, and that's perfectly normal. As the year comes to a close, we want to make sure you are aware of the resources that are available to both you and your students. The Summer Food Service Program meals have a new name, now called SUN meals! All children ages 1 through 18 are eligible to receive free meals during the summer months at participating program sites. Individuals ages 19 through 21 who have been identified as having mental or physical disabilities and are following Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) through their current enrollment in educational programs also are eligible for free summer meals. Attention parents of girls in grades 5-7 (going into grades 6-8 next year)! Registration has been extended for the Spark Summer Camp girls group! This group is open to all students and families. However, spots are limited to 15 girls, so it's first come, first served. The group sessions will take place at Fostoria Elementary School from June 10 to June 12 (Monday to Wednesday) and June 17 to June 20 (Monday to Thursday), between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm, led by dedicated staff from Family Children First Council and Fostoria City Schools. The primary aim of Spark Summer Camp is to empower girls transitioning from 6th to 7th grade, as well as those currently in 7th grade and moving to 6th grade next year. We'll be focusing on building developmental assets and encouraging the girls to take charge of their decisions and future. Through various activities and skill-building exercises, we'll discover new aspects of ourselves and our peers. Email dlykins@ncoesc.net to register your student. It was a busy day on FCS campus yesterday! FES had their first Careers on Wheels event and FJSHS had it's annual Class Olympics.

The Triple P Parenting class is being offered by the Family Resource Center at Fostoria City Schools over the summer. This program is designed to assist parents and families in dealing with behavioral and emotional issues in children and teenagers. The primary objective is to prevent and address problems within the family, school, and community, while fostering an environment that allows children to thrive. The class spans 9 weeks, commencing on June 2nd. Sessions are scheduled on Mondays from 9am to 11am for parents or guardians of children under 12 years old. Parents with children aged 13 and older can attend classes on Wednesdays from 4pm to 6pm. Juniors took the ACT in February. Those students who earned a 20 or higher for their composite score received yard signs recognizing them as members of the 20+ Club! Their names were also put into a drawing for Cedar Point Gold Passes with Aeryx Sidney and Kylar Leisure winning. Are you in a profession that requires a vehicle with wheels? We are searching for community partners to join us in our career exploration event. We understand that many of you have fascinating experiences to share with students, giving them the opportunity to explore your vehicle(s), discuss the tools of your trade, and talk about your business, career, and education. 'Careers On Wheels' presents an incredible chance for our students to have an up-close and personal look at various professions. The aim of this event is to inspire our students to consider their future possibilities and ignite an interest in careers they may not have previously considered. So, come on and showcase your vehicle - whether it's a tractor, plane, big rig, or anything in between - and share it with our students.
