Ms. Rutter and her students made slime Wednesday as a culminating activity. They read a story about making slime while reviewing for the OST. To reward the kids for working hard on the test, and applying what test taking strategies she taught them, they made slime!







Last Tuesday Mrs. Woodward and Mr. Daring took 12 students to ONU to visit the engineering department.






we had a fun week before Spring Break! Here Mrs. Boiros and Mrs. Hasselbach's classes along with " Grandma" did a S.T.E.M Project with stacking Easter eggs.

Ms.Langstaff’s math classes have been competing all March in a math competition to help build skills for the upcoming math OST! Today the competition came to and end with our winners being from Ms. Laughlin’s class: Levi Myers (1st place) and Elijah Allen (2nd place) and Ms Langstaff’s class: Kiana Harrison (1st place) and Victoria Brookman (2nd place). We are so proud of all our great mathematicians!






To kick off their genetics unit, Mrs. Loyd's 8th-grade science classes extracted the DNA from a strawberry using simple household items. The students were surprised to see what a large clump of DNA looks like!

What happens when drugs are combined?
Both drugs that people use illegally, and the medications are made of chemicals and these chemicals impact your body in different ways. So, when people combine substances it can have unexpected effects and effects that are different than if you took one of those chemicals alone.
Taking opioids and stimulants together raises the risk of overdose.
Taking opioids and alcohol, or other depressants, together raises the risk of overdose.
Drinking alcohol while on medications can cause serious health problems.
All drugs have risks, but mixing and matching is one of the worst things one can do, as it can produce unintended, even fatal effects.

Can using drugs help deal with anxiety and depression?
Over the long-term, it just makes those conditions even worse. In the long term, particular drugs can change your brain, it can impair the way you think.
If you're experiencing anxiety or depression it's really important to reach out to someone who you trust, to get help. There is safe help available for these conditions. Seek out the kind of help that will be sustainable over the long-term, which substance use is not.
